PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on 14 different times.
The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.
The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup holders after the French winger opened the scoring in the opening stages.
However, Marseille fired twice late to seize a shock advantage. Initially, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking turn of events, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital equaliser in the dying seconds to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the hero, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing shootout win.
Now 14-time winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the twelfth time in the past 13 years.
