Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could assist the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
